Welcome Family!

It has been very gratifying for me to put together the family address list and birthday calendar. I really appreciate all of the nice comments and thanks I have received from you.

It seemed like a good idea to create a place where it would be easy and fun to keep in contact with all the members of our growing families and extended family. I hope that we will all be motivated to participate in this blog and keep each other informed on what is going on within our families.

I encourage you to post photos, events, accomplishments, funny stories or anything that you would like. This is an opportunity for us to grow closer as a family as we become more familiar with each other.

I love you all - Naomi

skiing

Winter is cold this year. I enjoyed the snow in Nov and Dec - but now it can leave. I did get to go skiing with my new son in law Jonathan and my daughter Cassie. It was really a great day to go slide down the slopes. Thanks for taking me.

Cassie's adventure in PERU

Hello Pickle's! I just wanted to put in a post of the highlight of my 2009. I had the opportunity (quite unexpectedly) to go to Peru for a week in November. My friend Ali's dad lives in Lima. She had been planning a trip to visit him for a few months. A week before she left- she invited me to come! She didn't have to ask me twice. I still can't believe it.Ali and I in Cusco, Peru

Without question the best leg of the trip was the day we spent in Machu Picchu. After a taxi ride, a shaky train passage and the most terrifying bus ride of my life... we made it! We spent over 6 hours just walking around the lost city and marveling that such a place could exist. I never wanted to leave. Beyond beautiful.

And... my favorite picture of the whole trip. There it is. Hope everything is well with all of you!
Aunt Naomi, I think this blog is a great idea!

The Dave and Wendy Pickle family update

Emily has been enjoying Babysitting over the last year. She often does it for free on enrichment night to help out but she really loves it when she gets paid. Emily is also on the Murray rec. swim team.
Nathan was really excited to ring in the new year, we had to ask him to calm down several times so he would not wake the neighbors. This picture was taken at midnight whithout his knowledge.
Cameron is now an Olympic class swimmer and swims for Murray high
school swim team. He is really looking forward to playing water polo in the upcoming season.

Nathan is now an accomplished trumpet player in the fifth grade band. We are hoping he will soon be able to support his parents financially with his new talent.
